MEET THE TEAM




David Ward (Director)

The serious side

David is responsible for event delivery, both pre-event and as a producer on the day, making sure ConnectIn creates memorable events that really wow clients time and again.
He has enjoyed a hugely successful career within Sales and Live Events with one of the highlights project managing from concept to delivery the first & only awards dinner to be held at the MEN Arena, Manchester.
His success culminated in creating ConnectIn, which now enjoys clients of the calibre of CB Richard Ellis, Morrison, Wates Living Space, Parkway Green Housing Trust and TPAS to name a few.

The fun side

What I do:

Make all things at 'ConnectIn' happen (including making the brews for Penni) and then deliver them for our clients.

TV:

Top Gear, live sports and Sky News.

Music:

Mostly rock but at weekends a bit of dance – just to start it all off!

Read:

Sunday red tops…for what's really happening in the world!!

Holidays:

Poland and Dubai.

I have 42 pairs of trainers and have never drank tea or coffee (Er, that's two things David).




Penni Pennington (Director)

The serious side

Penni's skills provide ConnectIn with the perfect balance to manage clients' needs, build strong relationships with them and develop new business.
She is a highly effective business communicator and her interpersonal and motivational expertise plays a crucial part in her role managing sponsorship, marketing and sales for ConnectIn and its clients.
She has over 12 years experience in the housing sector working with people at all levels from chief executives and tenants, to contractors and consultants, delivering great results regardless of the event.

The fun side

What I do:

Create the vision, understand clients' needs and make sure we meet them. I also understand David's daily need for energy drinks and crisps by going to the shop for him!

TV:

I'm a drama queen and soap addict. I also love watching award ceremonies (for research purposes!) and checking out the latest fashions and amazing lighting and set designs.

Films:

Grease is the word, is the word, is the…! I also like true stories and chick flicks.

Music:

Depending on my mood: Indie, cheesy 80s or old school dance. The Stone Roses, New Order, David Bowie, Duran Duran and Kylie.

Read:

The Independent, The Sunday Times, Grazia, feel good, motivational books, and How Not to Run a Club by Peter Hook – I loved it!

Holidays:

Work hard and holiday hard is my motto! City breaks with 'hustle and bustle' that offer sites, shopping and the chill factor of the beach like Barcelona. The British Virgin Islands for a picture-postcard beach holiday – a really chilled part of the world.

Creating our dream – ConnectIn with David.

One thing you don't know about me:

I can still remember the dance routines from when I was a girl and I can still do the splits. My real name is Katharine! (Er, that's three things Penni).
